Guardian Angels
Last Time:
The Angels faced down a notoriously violent Genoid gang known as The Pride. Although the Angels appeared to win, they only arrested a single member of the five member gang. Three of the lions were killed and one managed to escape. However, unknown to the Angels, a new villain known as Sebastian Creed has decided to resurrect the dead members of the Pride through prosthetic bodies. Now, Sebastian has deadly gang under his control and he has every intention of using them to rid the world or Saipia Jones and the rest of the Angels.
Episode 11: "If the Paw Fits..."
As Saipia backed her little Hyundai into her reserved parking lot, her ears scanned the underground garage for anything out of place. She never could explain why she did so, but she felt it necessary. She was a little late that morning, but only because she had checked in on an more seriously injured member of her team.
Picking up the folder on the seat next to her, Saipia exited her vehicle and made sure it was locked before heading into the precinct. As she walked, she looked over the contents of the folder that had been given to her the day before.
After their run-in with The Pride, every member of the Angels had gotten at least a week off for medical purposes. Every, that is, except Saipia. After being by herself for a week, and mainly working on paperwork, it would be nice to have some company and to get back to actual police work.
The folder simply contained the status of her team members and the medical expenses so that she could make a detailed report and submit it to the chief so everyone could be reimbursed. The chief had groaned at some of the things that he would need to cover, but luckily, the precinct had excellent medical insurance, and everything should be covered.
As the blue wolf entered the elevator, she scanned the expense report and noticed Erica's expenses were more than she expected. Immediately, she flipped through the documents until she found Erica's medical sheet. As she read what the leopard had received, she noticed an expense simply labeled "prosthetics" written in one of the columns. This concerned the commander more than anything and she quickly made a note to discuss it with the captain before any assignments are given out.
As the doors opened, Saipia closed the folder and entered the main floor of the precinct. Desks arranged in a wall-less cubical formation made the room seem smaller than it really was and very cluttered. But, it also made people easier to find, and Saipia smiled internally when she saw Erica, Brian and James all huddled around the five desks that were assigned to the team. "Captain Martin, would you please see me in my office," she quickly ordered as she made the turn to head to her office.
"Now?" Erica asked, as the three looked up from the paperwork they were working on.
"Yes, ma'am," Saipia replied and the leopard quickly got to her feet and followed her friend and boss into the medium sized office.
Saipia held the door open for the younger cat before shutting it, to let everyone know that it was a private discussion. "I got the medical reports yesterday. And scanned through them on my way in this morning," began Saipia.
"Okay. I don't understand what that has to do with me," Erica said bluntly.
"Well, according to your expense report, you got prosthetics. I had thought James was the only one that needed them," the blue wolf mentioned as she leaned on the back of her chair.
"Yes. Right. Umm...Well, the doctors said I had a broken rib, a punctioned lung and my heart was starting to get overworked from my previous prosthetic work," the leopard replied.
Saipia sensed her friend was leaving something out, and her sensitive nose picked up more prosthetic work than that. "Anything else?"
"Umm...no," the leopard lied, causing her boss to wander over to her and sniff around her body.
"I smell...new arms, hands, liver, intestines..." Saipia began.
"Alright, damn! I hate it when you sniff around like that. Those suits were hard to control and they did a lot of damage to my arms. And, apparently my liver was shot due to unknown reasons, and I had a yeast infection that had done a number on..."
"That's why I want you guys to get physicals every month. And the fact that the doctors didn't catch your infection and bad liver until now, means you've been neglecting those check ups," the commander scolded.
"You know I hate hospitals and you know why," Erica defended.
"I don't care, either. Did you consult the prosthetic maker that James did?" the wolf questioned knowing full well what the answer was.
"Umm...no, but it shouldn't really matter, should it?" questioned the leopard.
Saipia sighed and walked up to the Captain. Promptly, she opened the younger officer's shirt and took a look at the mechanics of her new parts. "Look at this, Erica. I mean, I haven't even opened up the access port and I can see the shottiness of the craftsmanship. They didn't even bother with a nipple. And it feels like plastic. You should feel James' new arm. It hardly feels fake. And, your prosthetics cost four times as much as James. If you would have gone to the lady James went to, you could have gotten all this for a lot cheaper and it would have been a lot better quality."
"But I hate Linda. It always seems like she wants to rape me or steal my organs or something," complained the leopard.
"First of all, you already have an eye and a leg from her, and secondly, that's why you have someone go with you," James or I would be more than happy to accompany you to an appointment with Linda," Saipia replied with a smile.
Erica sighed as she looked down on her friend. "I suppose you're not going to take no for an answer, huh?"
Saipia shook her head. "You already have an appointment with Linda tomorrow, anyway. When I took James in to get her new arm, she promptly inquired about you and wants to check up on your eye and leg. She'll probably replace the crappy prosthetics and replace them with her own. Although, I'm sure she won't be happy that you didn't come to her first."
"Yeah, but, it's not like I had a choice. I'm sorry for not mentioning my prosthetic work to you in the first place. It's just that, I was laying there on the table and the doctors mentioned I needed it immediately, and so, I signed the papers," Erica replied.
The commander shrugged. "Hey, don't tell it to me. Linda's the one you'll have to explain it to. I wouldn't worry too much. She'll probably be more pissed at the guys who made just shotty prosthetics. If you're lucky, she'll replace them for free."
"Not that lucky. I'd have to pay for all this crap myself," Erica commented and Siapia laughed and nodded.
"I'm not asking the chief to fork out that much money for anything short of a full body prosthetic, and even then I doubt he'd go for it. And speaking of the chief, has he ordered any assignments, today?" asked the shorter blue canine.
"Not yet. But, we were doing research on the Genoid fight club ring. So, far it's pretty brutal. Everything suggests it's all mortal combat style. Liv doesn't control it, either. She was actually opposed to the idea, but it does provide her with a lot of income as she gets 20% of all bets and transactions. Of course, anyone who doesn't want to pay up becomes a contestant and whatever money he has on him goes to please Liv. Speaking of, it should be known that the word is going around quite fast that Liv is your friend and is helping you. This is causing Sebastian to gain power and some of the rings have gone deep underground. Some have also been disbanded, however. It would appear that our reputation is beginning to proceed us," explained Erica.
Saipia just laughed at that as she opened the door to her office. "If they only knew the whole story, they'd all just disband or go deep underground."
"Ah, there you are," The chief commented as the two women exited the office. "We just got a call that seems to be right up your team's alley. A young Genoid mother complained of her daughter coming home from school bruised and crying yesterday and today she never came home. I think you should go check out the school. And take someone with you, just in case this turns out to a racial issue."
Saipia let out a huff and placed her hands on her hips. "Racial issue. You know, technically we're not a different race. And it's only within the past three years that Genoids have been considered as such."
"But you have to remember, my dear Saipia, despite our human DNA, you have to remember that the thirty-five originals were two separate creatures, and those two creatures were combined into one body. So, we may technically still be human, but we are also wild animals, as well," James countered.
"That and we're discriminated against because of what we are and how we look. Other than homosexuals, bisexuals, religion and color, humans only discriminate against race. I say, to be discriminated against is what makes us a separate race," Bryan added.
"Whatever. Anyways, who wants to come to the school with me?" Saipia asked as she looked at her team.
Erica laughed and took a seat at her desk. "Last time I went to school with you, not everything turned out well. I think Janes' got this one covered."
"You know, Erica, Sai still out ranks you. If she were to..." James began.
""Yeah, yeah. I know. But she didn't ask and I gave my honest opinion. She knows I'd follow her to the ends of the Earth and back if I thought it was necessary or she asked me to. But, it's just a trip to a school. She doesn't need me for that," Erica replied.
"She's right. Come on, James. Oh, and, Erica, would you mind giving the Challenger a thorough checkup today before you go home?" said the commander.
"Yes, ma'am," replied the leopard.

Because it was a simple follow-up mission and because she didn't want to frighten anyone or cause a panic, Saipia opted to take her personal vehicle to the school and she and James changed out of their police uniforms. Although, they had their badges and guns with them, they were hidden. It would be easier for them to gather information without running around as cops looking for something.
Saipia also decided to wash the dye from her fur. Her blue color was well known and she feared that if she continued to wear it, it would have the same negative effect as wearing a uniform. Because of this and the casual coats the two wore, they were able to wander about the campus unnoticed.
Casually, the two women chatted amongst each other while walking around the building at a leisurely pace. Their ears and noses constantly scanned for anything unusual. As they rounded a corner and entered the playground, they discovered a tapped off section in front of a wall that was spray painted by an anti-Genoid gang. The high school was unique in that it spanned the border between the Human and Genoid side of the city. The racial markings were on the Genoid side of the school, though. "That's going to generate a lot of hate mail," Saipia commented.
"Yeah. I'm surprised there isn't someone out here cleaning it up. Although, I would love to catch the jackass who did this, it isn't a priority at the moment," James agreed.
Saipia nodded and stared at the wall a moment longer before the two continued on their way. It wasn't long before a fowl stench drew them to the dumpster behind the school. It was positioned at an odd distance from the school and playground, but the markings on it claimed that it was indeed school property. The white wolf cautiously lifted the closed lid with one hand while the other was wrapped firmly around the hilt of her pistol. Quickly surveying the scene inside the oversized trashcan, the wolf tossed open the lid to give her and James a better look. "Well, there is definitely something seriously wrong going on at this school," commented the commander as the two officers peered down on the body of a naked Genoid tigress.
"Yeah. I'll start taking pictures. You can call the chief and get Bryan and the CSIs over here," James agreed.
"Right, but let's do this as quietly as we can. Take your pictures and we'll casually and covertly remove the body. Maybe even waiting until tonight. I don't want to spook whoever did this," ordered the white wolf.
"You think someone at the school is responsible?" James asked.
Saipia nodded. "It makes sense. I also think whoever killed this girl is responsible for the graffiti, as well. And, if that's so, it stands to reason that one of the teachers is up to this. So, over the next few days the four of us on duty will get jobs at the school. But it'll be nice an quiet. If Jimmy's up to it, he can even register as a student. He can easily appear young enough."
"So can you, Sai," James suggested.
"Yes, I could. And I will, if I must, but I'd much rather put my high school years behind me," replied the commander.
As James laughed and began taking her pictures, Saipia turned around and spotted a group of children wandering out to the playground around the corner. Amongst them were three Genoids. She quickly noticed difference in the clothes. The Genoids had school uniforms on while the humans did not. "Yeah. Something is definitely wrong at this school. It's practically infested with prime examples of Genoid discrimination," she muttered.
Upon hearing the idle words of her boss, James turned and noticed the same group of children Saipia did. The maned wolf let out an irritated huff. "Damn it! That's a blatant violation of the Genoid Equal Rights Act. You know, usually, think you're pro-Genoid speeches and lifestyle can go a little far, but there are other times when I'm right there with ya. Damn humans."
"We're technically human, too, James," Saipia retorted with a smile.
James let out another huff at the comment. "Whatever. The maned wolf inside me is cursing my human genes."
Saipia again laughed. "I think I'll get a job as a teacher for this mission. There's a lot I could teach these kids."
"There's no doubt about that. You know more about Genoids than any other person I know. Just don't get too carried away. We need to find out who killed this poor girl. And we still need to find out where our client's kid is," James agreed.

There was more than one body in that dumpster. Three of them to be exact. Among them was the daughter of the woman who contacted the Angels in the first place. All three were Genoids. The tigress, the vixen and a reindeer. All died of strangulation. The parents of the three had been contacted and informed of their loss. Saipia was thankful that all of them were willing to keep the news of the deaths quiet. The last thing they needed was the media scaring away any suspects.
It only took a day for arrangements to be made for the Angels to infiltrate the high school. Saipia would be posing as a history teacher. Erica was hired on as a janitor, much to her dismay. James was hired on as a librarian while Bryan became a biology teacher. They started the following Monday. Although there was a murmur throughout the school about bodies being found on school grounds, because the Angels had handled it very quietly, the murmurs stayed murmurs. For the most part, the students and facility had no idea anything had happened.
Even as Saipia glanced over her lesson plans for that morning and a couple of the teachers wandered in to greet her, no one remotely suspected the white wolf was really an undercover police officer looking for a nasty killer. "You must be the new teacher," a blonde-haired woman greeted Saipia who sat behind a large desk in a dusty classroom.
"Yes. Amanda Totran," smiled the wolf.
"Totran?" the woman seemed shocked at the name. As if she had heard it before. "The only Totrans I know died when I was a little girl."
Saipia smiled. "No relation. Although, I sometimes say I am. After all, they did fight pretty hard for Genoid rights and ended up dying because of it."
The woman nodded. "Anyways, I'm Tracy Silverton. I'm one of the history teachers here. But, I hear you specialize in Genoid history."
A smile spread across Saipia's canine lips. "Yes, that's right. I do find it very intriguing that, even though it was only fifty-years ago, everyone has completely forgotten how Genoids came to be. Everyone tends to forget that we're still at least partially human."
"Yeah. People can be silly sometimes. Well, good luck," Tracy smiled and gave a wave before heading off.
Erica rolled her cart filled with hidden bugs by the door to Saipia's new room. The two smiled. "Damn, Erica, in that get up I can hardly tell you're female," Saipia commented.
The leopard laughed. "That's kinda the idea. Dress like a man, walk like a woman. That way people don't know what to say or do with ya. You'd be surprised what I can get away with when I'm dressed like this simply because anyone who catches me doesn't know whether to address me as a man or a woman."
Saipia shared in the laughter and shook her head. "And it's crap like that made me put you on my team. Just be careful. You may look like a man now, but underneath that, you're a hot young woman."
"Of course. But you know I can handle myself in a fight just as well as you can, Miss Kung Fu," Erica replied.
The wolf just shook her head and allowed herself to give her teammate a quick kiss on the cheek before heading back into her classroom. It was almost time for the children to arrive. Saipia was eager to teach. Casually she scribbled her name on the board as the first kids started to arrive. The officer turned and smiled at the lioness that entered. The young feline seemed bothered by something and kept glancing around nervously. Plucking the roster off her desk, the wolf peered through the glasses that were part of her disguise and searched for this first-comer. The student list listed not only names but specie. Upon finding the only lioness in her class, Saipia spoke, "Miss...Kyleton, is it? Is there something wrong that I could help you with?"
The young feline seemed startled be Saipia's voice and presence, quickly looking up at the new teacher and the name on the board. "Umm..no, ma'am. Everything's fine."
Saipia's expression would have told the lioness that Saipia easily saw through the weak lie. The glasses Saipia wore contained a small camera and microphone. Down the block from the school, a couple of rookies sat, watched and listened to the feeds from a small house the police often used for these kind of missions. "Alright. But if there's ever anything you want or need to talk about, just let me know."
"Yeah. I'll be sure to do that," the feline replied and a smiled crossed her face.
"Why the sudden smile?" 'Amanda' asked.
"Oh, nothing. It's just that none of the teachers ever want to hear our problems anymore. Although, it has been a while since we've had a Genoid teacher," Paula Kyleton replied.
"Ah. Yeah. That's one reason why I wanted to teach here. And my door is always open," said Saipia with a smile.
Before anything else could be said, more students started to pile into the classroom as the bell rang. "Alright, everyone, please take a seat and we will get started," commanded the white wolf with the same authority that she would her team.
Quickly, most of the students did as they were told. There was a group of five humans, however, that stood around talking. "Excuse me, guys, but you need to take your seat."
"We're not taking any orders from some Genoid bitch," commented one of the boys in the group.
Only slightly taken back by the comment, Saipia quickly retorted, "Oh, if you don't take your seat, I'll show you how much of a 'Genoid bitch' I can be."
The five students looked at the teacher in disbelief. 'Amanda' simply crossed her arms and glared at them through her glasses. A couple of them swallowed and hesitantly took their seat. "What are you going to do?"
"Do you REALLY want to find out? Just so you know, since I'm teaching this class, it will focus on Genoid history. Something that everyone in the school should learn about. So, if you don't want to learn about it, then you can just skip this class and I'd be happy to give you an F on your report card for this class and inform your parents that you've been skipping classes," replied Amanda. The seriously tone of her voice and look on her face made the remaining students take their seats. "Good, now we can begin. Let's start with the roll call first, shall we."
After rattling off the names on her roster, she made sure to make notes about the five students who gave her trouble. "Now, before we go back to the beginning and discuss how Genoids came to be, I'd like to talk about where we're going. Most people don't realize that all Genoids have a deep secret. It's been recently discovered that with each new generation, the human DNA is being overwritten. That is, the human side of Genoids is being phased out. What will happen when it's completely gone, no one knows. We don't know if we'll simply become feral again and return to four legs or remain upright and retain our ability to talk. It is thought that the decline in human DNA in offspring is because that some of the parent's human DNA is needed to create the children, but that opinion is usually tossed aside as it really doesn't make much sense.
"Now, who can tell me how many Genoids were created by Dr. Ira Storavich?" A dingo glanced around nervously a moment before raising his hand. "Mr. Kinto."
"There were fifteen originals, Miss Totron," he answered.
"Good job. Dr. Ira had only planned to make a handful of Genoids, which he called Annoids. That stood for Animal Humanoids. However, those first fifteen had some serious issues. Of them only a six are currently accounted for. Number 2 is Liv Ashton, a local brothel owner and five, six, seven, eight, and nine are a gang of lions known as The Pride. Of the six we know of, two of them are dead. The first Genoid ever created was killed. No one knows how it died, or that much about it. There are rumors, however, that the first was created from Dr. Ira's own daughter. Every first generation Genoid was numbered and still wears that number somewhere on their bodies. However, the original fifteen have theirs hidden. No one knows quite why, but it may have something to do with the death of the first. This is supported by reports of the original fifteen having their numbers moved around number 1's death. This has also caused those tracking the remaining fourteen to loose track of them. Also, when those original fourteen had their numbers moved, it caused a panic amongst the other first generation Genoids and they also had their numbers hidden from public few. Now, the only way to guess as to who's a first generation Genoid is to check their age. And, because it's not that popular to announce if you have prosthetics or not, even that's not reliable.
"But Dr. Ira really was a revolutionary. He created an entirely new specie. Not that he was actually trying to. After all, the original fifteen are completely sterile," Explained Saipia.
The undercover officer enjoyed her first day as a teacher. The students seemed interested in the information she had to share, as well. By the time lunch rolled around, she had taught them a lot and the five that were originally opposed to Genoids seemed to be far more interested in learning more about them.
Saipia meandered into the staff break room to grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee. She smiled at James and Bryan who were seated at separate tables talking to different people. The white wolf smiled at this as it suggested that they didn't know each other, but, if one were to really think about it, it did. In a school without any Genoid teachers, one would think that if some where hired, they'd want to get to know each other. Not really caring for a conversation of her own, however, Saipia just poured herself a cup of burnt coffee and leaned against the counter. She scanned the conversations taking place for any information as to who the killer was.
"Look at her," said one of the female teachers. "She's young and beautiful. Hell, if I weren't married..."
"I agree, wholeheartedly. And I hear the kids have really been enjoying her class. She'd just better be careful of you-know-who," said another woman who sat across from the first one.
"Yeah. He is the reason we don't have any Genoid teachers," commented the first.
Saipia's cell phone rang, distracting her away from the conversation. When she checked the name on the phone's screen, she sighed to see Erica's name. "Yes?" she asked, answering the phone.
"Hey, Sai. I've found something interesting. You'll want to see this. Meet me in the basement," Erica replied.
"Alright. I'm on my way," the wolf said and quickly hung up.
Nonchalantly, Saipia left the room and wandered down the hall. As she walked, she sensed something off about the school. Something clearly wasn't right to her. The halls were very void of any Genoids. The human students roamed the halls as if everything was normal. Even, so, however, Saipia sensed most of them were tense about something. Only a few eyes glanced over her attractive body, which was something else that raised a red flag. Normally, she wouldn't mind not having guy stripping her with their eyes, but, in a place with young, adolescent boys, there should be be more than this.
By the time she began to descend into the basement, she had a stern feeling that it wasn't good to be a Genoid and go to that school. The basement stank and felt sterile. There was no way anyone would be able to hear them nor would they suspect that they were having a little meeting there. "What is it, Erica?"
Without a word, the leopard pulled out a small, hand held TV from her cleaning cart. She handed to her boss who casually flipped through the pictures. Before her, there were images of a male teacher raping Genoid students and beating them. "Damn! This bastard is sick. This must be what everyone's so worked up about around here."
"Well, that and the Principle here does stuff that's even worse. From what I hear, every month there's a Student of the Month award and who ever wins it becomes the Principle's little sex toy. Needless to say, there hasn't been very many humans who've won that award. Also, you notice how most of the Genoid students around here are females? I also hear that the Principle has his eye on you while this sick pervert has the hots for James," explained Erica as she affectionately stroked Saipia's white mane.
The commander sighed. "I was really hoping it would take longer to weed these guys out. But, I guess you can't rely on criminals to be that smart. Anyways, keep an eye on this bastard for now. If he tries to rape another student, stop him. If he tries to rape you, kick his ass. Don't kill him though. He'll get what's coming to him in prison. I'll take care of the principle."
Erica smiled. "Yes, ma'am. You know I always loved you in glasses." With that, she gave the wolf a kiss on the lips.
"Hey, not while we're on duty. You know that. Maybe I'll indulge you tonight," Saipia protested after Erica broke the kiss. The leopard nodded and gently took the TV back from her commander.

Saipia was busy packing up things to head home when the principle of the school slipped through the door and promptly locked it. The white canine couldn't believe that he was actually thinking about raping her already, but decided to play along for the time being. "Mr. Alliaster, just the man I wanted to see. I was just going to swing by your office and go over a few things with you."
"Really? Well, there's certainly a lot we can go over," commented the man as he began to rub is perverted hands over the wolf's rump.
Saipia had chosen to wear her police uniform under her teacher's outfit in case things escalated quicker than expected. Now, she was thankful that she also brought her gun. If there was one thing she hated with every fiber of her body, it was people touching her private places without her permission. It was because of this that she was extremely picky about who she slept with. It took every once of her strength not to kick his ass right then. Swallowing her pride, she laughed nervously. "Umm...I was actually thinking about grades and things."
"So was I," the man said before forcing her over the edge of her desk. As she struggled lightly, he lifted the hem of her skirt. "Don't worry, this won't hurt me a bit."
"Oh, I beg to differ, sir. See there's just one thing you've forgotten about me," Saipia commented as the man's right hand suddenly felt the hilt of her gun. "I'm not entirely human and I'm much stronger than you are." With that Saipia rose to her feet, her muscles straining under the human's strength and weight.
"You maybe a Genoid wolf, but don't think I'm a push over, either, bitch!" the man snapped.
"Yeah, and just because you're a cyborg doesn't mean you're going to win. Especially when your parts are so shotty," retorted the wolf as she slowly managed to turn around and place a heel clad foot on his large gut. With a firm thrust, she sent the principle flying through the room while she flipped backwards, towards the wall, quickly drawing her gun.
"Stupid bitch! You think you're the only cop that's come knocking on my door?" The man shouted as he got to his feet and revealed a cannon where his left hand used to be.
"No. But you obviously have never faced me, before. Probably you've never even heard of me. If you had, you would have given up by now," commented the commander as she crouched on the chalkboard, her spiked heels and muscles keeping her in one spot. Her gun remained aimed perfectly at the cyborg's head.
The man smiled wickedly and fired his cannon. Quickly he charged behind the bullet. Saipia leaped from the wall and over the shell from the cannon. As she went into a somersault, her foot slammed into Mr. Alliester's head, forcing him into a full flip. When his head came back around, it collided with the officer's knee. Instantly Saipia jammed the barrel of the pistol into his temple and kept it there and he crashed to the ground. "You move, I pull the trigger," she warned.
A stunned look on the human's face revealed that he had no intention of disobeying the wolf now. The door to the classroom burst open as Erica came to the rescue. For a moment, the leopard was surprised to see that Saipia had the situation under control, but she quickly laughed at the scene. "That's what you get for trying to mess with Saipia Jones."
"Shut up and cuff this bastard, would ya?" growled the commander.
"Yes ma'am," Erica replied and promptly did as she was told.
As Saipia rose to her feet she discovered that not only were her skirt and blouse covered in oil and grease, but they both had tears in them. "Damn it! This was my favorite skirt and blouse, too."
"My favorite, too," Erica commented. "And, if I recall, I'm the one who bought you those. So, don't worry, I can always get you more."
"Thanks, Erica. Why don't you spend the night at my place tonight? Linda will be there in the morning, anyway. So, she could get you squared away then," Suggested the white wolf after taking a deep breath.
"Well, I don't like Linda, but spending the night with you does sound like fun. But what about Gjai?" Erica asked as more officers came to take the former principle away.
"What about her? It's not like she hasn't been home when we've had our fun before?" Saipia commented as she stripped out of her ruined skirt and blouse.
Erica shrugged. "Whatever. You want to grab a bite to eat before heading to the station?"
"Umm....Sure. We can do that," Saipia nodded as she glanced around the mess of the classroom.
As the two officers stepped into the hallway, they didn't notice Paula making her way towards them. "Miss Totron!" she called, causing the wolf to turn in her direction. Saipia smiled warmly at the student.
"I'll have to take a raincheck on that meal, I think. Just tell the chief I'll be back in a little bit," Saipia told Erica.
"Right. I think I'll wait for ya at the precinct. That way we can go somewhere nicer than a fast food joint," Erica replied.
The two women exchanged a quick kiss before Saipia turned her attention back to the approaching lioness. "Yes, Paula, what is it?"
Paula paused a moment when she saw the uniform. "You're a cop?" she questioned.
"Yes. And my real name is Saipia Jones. My team and I were undercover trying to find out who killed three of your fellow classmates," said the officer honestly.
"Oh. Well, can we still talk?" the young woman asked.
Saipia smiled. "Sure we can. If you want, I can even walk you home."
"That would be nice," Paula replied and the two began the two hour walk to Paula's home.
